Checking disk space
From This PC in File Explorer, each drive shows its used and available space directly. For a more detailed view, the Disk Management tool (diskmgmt.msc) lists the partitions and their exact size.
Finding out what is taking up room
The built-in Disk Cleanup app (search for "Disk Cleanup" in the Start menu) automatically identifies the categories of files that can be reclaimed: temporary files, recycle bin, old Windows update files, error reports.
Exploring large folders manually
To pinpoint exactly which folder is using the most space beyond the standard Disk Cleanup categories, Windows File Explorer shows a folder's size through a right-click then Properties — useful for comparing several large folders one after the other.
Application logs that keep growing

Increasing disk space
